Dipping Tobacco Brands & Types

There’s Fine Cuts, Long Cuts and Original cuts along with Pouches. The flavors range from Straight and Whiskey flavors to wintergreen and Original ones and a myriad of fruit flavors from Apple to Grape! While there are a wide range of flavors and cuts, there is a common thread between them all and that thread is sweetness. No matter what flavor you try, the sweet flavor is always there which, is another thing that is unique to American Dip; they all have a sweetener added to them. “Dip Guy, are you telling us that there is sugar in our Dip?” In a way, yes. You see, in order for the flavors to blend together in the fermenting process, there needs to be a bit of sugar to begin the process. Some manufacturers use sugar while others use another type of sweetener to jumpstart the fermenting but they do all use a sweetener. Like I said, it’s unique to American Dip and is what makes it special. Ok, back to the different kinds of Dip!

While there are over a hundred of different kinds of Dip, there are only 4 different types. There’s the Original cut which is between a fine cut and a long cut, it’s the oldest type of Dip. Long Cut is next and is basically the most popular type of Dip. Long Cut means that the tobacco is cut into longer pieces and is actually the easiest cut to use because it holds together better, lasts longer and is easier to remove once you’re thru. Fine Cut is the next type and, in reality, is the newest type. Fine Cut Dip is tobacco that has the shortest strips and has an almost sandy type of texture. Fine Cut dip is the hardest to use because the pinch doesn’t hold up as well and is pretty hard to manage in your lip but, on the upswing, Fine Cut Dip has the most flavor.
